|
Position Summary: Maintain and enforce safe waterfront practices. Assist with the implementation of waterfront activities. June 6, 9-14, 19, 22, 29; July 17, 18, 20, 22-26, 31; August 1,3, 5-9. Approximately 33 hours per week. Start and End Date: June 6 - August 9, 2013 Major Accountabilities: - Be responsible for maintaining the health and safety of campers.
- Lifeguard and participate in waterfront events.
- Teach small watercraft activities.
- Maintain an organized and clean facility, equipment and supplies; report needed repairs.
- Assist in the opening and closing of the waterfront.
Key Responsibilities: - Help campers follow directions and rules.
- Promote a sense of responsibility toward preservation of natural resources at waterfront site.
- Conduct daily check of area and equipment for safety cleanliness, and good repair.
- Lead and/or assist with canoe programs and trips.
- Supervise campers' participation in structured and unstructured activities.
- Ensure implementation of the Girl Scout program.
- Assist in the opening and closing of camp.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Camp Director.

Experience and Skills
|
- Current certification American Red Cross Lifeguard or certification from another organization having equal standards.
- Current certification in CPR from the Professional Rescuer and Standard First Aid.
- Experience in an aquatic setting; lake setting experience or certification is preferred.
- Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule.
- Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout program and enroll as a Girl Scout member.
- Provide own transportation to and from camp each day.
- At least 16 years of age.
- Physical demands and work environment regularly requires the employee to walk, hike, and work outdoors in wooded areas and on uneven natural paths.
