Job Description:

Position Summary:
This role is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Human Resources. The support will touch a wide array of HR functions such as benefits administration, recruitment, records management, HR data and reporting and employee recognition.

This part time position would work 20 hours per week and would have some flexibility in the schedule within business hours for the work week.

 

Key Responsibilities
1. Provides administrative support for the Director of Human Resources which may include creating hire letters, updated documents, running or designing reports, answering basic employee questions and scheduling meetings.
2. Manage the confidential files, including interview files, personnel files, training attendance records, and more.
3. Assist with coordination of employee benefits, by processing enrollments and changes.
4. Assist with recruitment by posting jobs on internal and external websites, creating hire packets, and coordinating online and in person onboarding process.
5. Point of contact for workers’ compensation claims.
6. Processes employment criminal background checks.
7. Models behavior consistent with the Mission and purpose of Girl Scouting.
8. Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Experience and Skills:


1. Associates Degree in Human Resources preferred but not required.
2. A minimum of 2 years administrative office experience.
3. Exercise discretion when handling potentially confidential or sensitive matters.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office including outlook, word, excel, and power point.
5. Experience working with a human resource information systems a plus.
6. Customer-service oriented with ability to communicate in a professional manner with a wide range of people. Unequivocal commitment to pluralism.
7. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and facilitate projects to their completion.
8. Experience in project management and strong critical thinking skills.
9. Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout program and enroll as a Girl Scout member which includes paying a nominal membership fee annually.
10. Valid driver’s license, a driving record that meets the requirements for coverage of the council’s business auto insurance carrier and have automobile insurance limits that are in compliance with the council’s business auto insurance requirements
11. Physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to sit at a computer work station for extended periods of time, occasionally required to stand for long periods, and operate office equipment manually. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Benefits

Benefits include 403b Thrift plan with base and matching contributions. Paid holiday plan with the following holidays observed by GSWISE: Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday, and an business days between December 24 and January 1. In addition this part time position will accrue paid time off (PTO) at a rate of 1.5 days per month with a total of 18 days per year.
